1. Registration, the formality everyone forgets. Any traveller staying more than 72 hours in Uzbekistan must be registered with the migration service (OVIR) — with or without a visa. The point few guides mention: this registration must be renewed in each locality where you are accommodated. A Tashkent — Samarkand — Bukhara — Khiva circuit means four registrations. At a hotel, the establishment handles it (keep the receipts); in private accommodation or a rental, it is up to the owner to do it online on emehmon.uz — make sure they do. The check happens when leaving the country: a gap in the chain exposes you to a fine. We do not handle this formality, it is done on site.
2. Two recent bans, punishable under criminal law. E-cigarettes have been banned since 1 April 2026 — mere possession can be prosecuted. Drones are banned from being brought in and used, also under criminal law. Finally, any sum above the equivalent of 100,000,000 soums must be declared on entry, whatever the currency.
