Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa for Morocco?
Most nationalities (France, the EU, the Maghreb including Algeria and Tunisia, the USA, Canada, the UK, Senegal, Ivory Coast, China, Japan…) enter without a visa for a tourist stay of up to 90 days — about 76 nationalities. Visa-subject nationalities come under the e-visa (under conditions). Select your nationality above: your case appears.
Who is eligible for the Moroccan e-visa? (the three routes)
For a visa-subject nationality, three routes lead to the Morocco e-visa: 1. Directly (an ordinary passport is enough): India, Israel, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Guatemala, Jordan. 2. Via a residence permit: any visa-subject nationality holding a residence permit still valid at least 6 months from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland. 3. Via a visa: holders of a multiple-entry sticker visa valid ≥ 90 days from a qualifying country. ⚠️ Electronic authorisations (US ESTA, eTA…) are not accepted as supporting documents.
I live in France with a residence permit: am I eligible for the Morocco e-visa?
Yes, in most cases: any visa-subject nationality holding a residence permit still valid at least 6 months from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland is eligible for the Moroccan e-visa. A French residence permit qualifies.
What is the AEVM?
The Electronic Travel Authorisation for Morocco is a mandatory pre-authorisation before boarding for nationals of Congo-Brazzaville, Guinea, Ecuador and Ghana: these are not visa-subject nationalities, but they must obtain this authorisation.
Do some nationalities have to go through the consulate?
Yes: a few nationalities (and holders of refugee/stateless travel documents) are eligible neither for the e-visa nor for the AEVM and come under a consular visa. Select your nationality: the case appears automatically with a dedicated contact.

Official invitation required
Your nationality requires an official invitation (with a number issued by the authorities) to obtain the e-visa. This number must be entered in the application. It is not a personal invitation from a friend or relative.
