Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa for Brazil?
French and European nationals are visa-exempt for tourism and business for up to 90 days. A visa becomes necessary beyond that, or to study, work, settle or join a relative. A few nationalities (United States, Canada, Australia, China) come under a tourist e-visa.
Which option should I choose for my plans?
Tourism (visa-subject nationality): e-visa or VIVIS visit visa. Studies, internship or exchange: VITEM IV. Work: VITEM V. Joining a relative: VITEM XI. Working holiday (18-30): VITEM VI. Retirement: VITEM XIV. Remote work: VITEM XIV digital nomad. Select your nationality: only the cards that concern you appear.
What is the difference between the e-visa and the VIVIS?
The e-visa is a 100% online tourist visa reserved for a few passports (United States, Canada, Australia, China). The VIVIS is the consular visit visa for other visa-subject nationalities: we register the file, but the deposit at the consulate is done by you.
Do French nationals need a visa to study or work?
Yes. The French visa exemption only covers tourism for up to 90 days. For studies (VITEM IV), a job (VITEM V), retirement (VITEM XIV) or family reunification (VITEM XI), a visa is mandatory, as for all nationalities.
What is the processing time for VITEM visas?
Allow about 35 to 45 days from the deposit of the file at the consulate. Do not book your flight before the visa is issued (or get a changeable ticket).

Direct arrivals in Bali are subject to a tourist levy. We can pay and pre-register it for you to avoid the queue on arrival.
Official invitation required
Your nationality requires an official invitation (with a number issued by the authorities) to obtain the e-visa. This number must be entered in the application. It is not a personal invitation from a friend or relative.
If you do not have an official number, your invitation is not valid for the e-visa: choose the option above so that we obtain it.
